Choose the engineering category
Qualification level and demonstrated competencies affect whether the outcome is Professional Engineer, Engineering Technologist, Engineering Associate or Engineering Manager. The employer title “engineer” does not decide the category. Compare the accredited qualification and actual work with the current standards.
Accredited qualification pathways
Engineers Australia describes pathways for accredited Australian qualifications and programs recognised under the Washington, Sydney or Dublin Accords. Accreditation depends on the exact program and relevant graduate or intake period; country signatory status alone is not enough. Use the official qualification check.
Competency Demonstration Report pathway
A CDR may apply to a non-accredited or provisionally accredited qualification, or where the intended occupation differs from the qualification title. A migration skills assessment and a relevant skilled-employment assessment can be separate services. Engineers Australia also states that it does not award visa points. Preserve detailed employer and payment evidence and map the periods to the Home Affairs employment rules.
